I have an awesome boyfriend
Seamus was the one who found Menelaus. He brought him back. Then he came inside and told me, which must have been awful.
He held me while I sobbed and sobbed. He was kind and gentle but firm, wouldn't let me have false hope when I thought he'd made a mistake and Mene was alive. He sat with me over Menelaus' body and let me talk and cry. He kissed me and told me it was't my fault, wasn't anyone's fault. When I picked up Menelaus to put him in my room I stumbled and Seamus reached out and took Menelaus from me, wrapped in his towel, and we put him down on my floor in a spot that gets the morning sun, he liked to sleep there.
The next morning he stayed with me, he held me close when I woke up and remembered. He took me out of the house and bought me coffee and got me to eat breakfast.
He watched over me as I dug the grave. He suggested we bury some of Mene's toys with him. Then he brought Menelaus out to me and helped me put him to rest.
Ten minutes later I was on my bedroom floor, sobbing. Seamus came in and held me tight.
He's made the last couple of days easier than hey would otherwise have been.
Tonight he came home and presented me with four specialty chocolates, "That one is cos it's crap the cat died, that one is yay, your job interview went well, that one is I'm sorry your asthma is playing up and that one is cos... we've been together six months."
I love him.
I'm going to eat chocolates now.
