Yup, this is what we do with our long weekends in this house...

As many of you know, Omniprop Productions will be performing Aristophanes Lysistrata at the Melbourne Fringe Festival later this year. It will be represented in the Fringe Guide by this image:

The question is, should we also use this image for the poster? So far we think yes if only because we can't be arsed doing that much work on it again. We though we should get some quick opinions from others, so I said I'd ask the internet.

Internet? Think this would make a good poster?

It is my tummy, but the picture has been photoshopped to darken the skin and remove freckles and scars, so it's cheating for me to take credit for it. But thank you :-)

OK, clearly a few of these folks don't know Aristophanes from the Simpsons but that's their problem really.

This is the thing. Lots of people flicking through the Fringe guide won't know Aristophanes, and we want as large an audience as possible. I posted the image here and asked for feedback because we didn't just want people who knew the play to see it (I could have just posted it to [livejournal.com profile] mucaas_social) but instead to guage the responses of people who knew the play, people who didn't, theatre people, artistic people, academic people and any other sort of potential theatre goer we might attract. And it seems to have worked :-)
