*Yawn*

Good God I need a coffee.

One more day, then it's pay day, and I can have a nice coffee.

Since that's a whole day away, I guess I'll have the instant that is here.

My contract has just been extended a month. Yay! That's actually quite convenient, because it means I finish work on the 22nd or so of September, and if they decide that that is all they want from me I can take the two days of the Tech and Dress Run for Lysistrata off, then start working again on the day of the preview. I might see if there is any part-time work for those two weeks, only working 4-5 hours a day while performing would be very tempting (or "temp-ing"! Ha! Cos I'm a temp! Getit? Get...I'm fired, aren't I?)

I got all excited night before last because I managed to sleep the whole night through. Unfortunately that was not the case last night, but I only woke up once, and it was early morning (5:40 a-fucking-m!), not middle of the night. I choose to take this as encouraging.

Coffee. Coffee, coffee coffee.

1 stalk lemongrass
1/2 lt veggie stock
1/2 lt fish stock
1 lt water
1 hot red chili
5 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon chilli paste
handful of mushrooms (oyster, shitake, button, field, meh, not picky!)
1 can mixed stirfy veggies
5 fresh or 3 teaspoons canned/jarred kaffir lime leaves
lime juice
lemon juice
1 bok choy or pak choy
1 handful snowpeas
(optional) half dozen prawns
(optional) coconut milk, one can

Put stock and water in a pot, put pot over a low heat.
Cut up lemongrass into tiny, tiny pieces, 1mm think slices really. Bung them in a food processor or smush them with a mortar and pestle. Put resulting fragrant mess into pot. Simmer for 25 minutes, or one episode of The Simpsons.

Add crushed garlic, chilli, lime leaves, simmer a furthur 10 minutes. Top up with more stock and/or water if needed.

Bung in everything else except seafood, bok/pak choy and lemon/lime juice. Simmer a further ten minutes.

Five minutes before serving put in seafood and bok choy, add lemon/lime juice to taste.

Say hello to your sinuses.

if it's too spicy, add coconut milk.

Knew I forgot something! When adding seafood and bok choy, you can also add noodles if you want. I like udon noodles, which is mixing cultures a bit, I think most people use vermicelli or ramen.

Excellent! I shall write this down and possibly use it. Thanks! :)

BTw - I deleted my comment above because I noticed an abominable grammatical mistake, and I can't edit my replies! Yeah, I know, I'm weird.

Chris also wanted to add that she didn't mention cherry tomatoes. Cut in half, you add them along with the mushrooms and the rest of that schtuff.
