Volunteer Position

I got accepted! I start training next year in February. I am very excited. By the end of my training I'll have a certificate in Telephone Counseling, which should be enough when coupled with other volunteer work and some of my actual employed positions to get me into a MSW. I'm on my way, freaking yeah!!!!!

And [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo just rang after going to the post office; my djembe does exist after all, it was just held up in quarentine since it's mahogony! Yay drum! Yay to restoration of faith in humanity!

My work situation is vastly improved and I'm- if not screamingly happy- quietly content at present.

And after work [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and I will go into Melbourne and pick up this year's Christmas decoration. We're having a real tree this year, it should be delivered this Saturday.

And I had lunch with [livejournal.com profile] jpom40!

Today is most definitely Made of Win

Hey well done! I know you were really hoping you'd get in. Never any doubt. :)

ALso good news about the djembe. I thought the seller closed their account afterwards?

[identity profile] mstakenidentity.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
I emailed the seller to let them know it arrived. Apparently (according to them) Ebay closed their account without giving a valid reason and they're currently trying to get it re-instated. Mistaken identity? Problems with beaurocracy? The seller is A bit Dodge But Not Completely Dodge? Who knows? Who cares? I HAVE A DRUM! :-D

Yay! Also, I did tell you that you have an item waiting at Ascot Vale Post Office, right? We got the card last week.

Indeed you (and Lisa) did, thank you, it was the drum! Ebay gave my old address to the seller, which is odd because I did change it. I'm going to email Ebay and say "Umm..." at them.

Congratulations on the volunteering. Not surprised of course and it certainly sounds like you blitzed the application process!

Hooray for the djembe! Hey have you checked out the list of January workshops at underbelly? There's a drumming one (though it's Arabic, not African drumming) also a few bellydancing ones that sound good. No prices up as yet.

So glad you're having such a great day.
