Thanks, he is the second cat I've lost to a car. At least with the other he was deaf, blind and five years old, so I at least could feel we'd given him five years he would not otherwise have had had he not been found by us as a kitten. Mene was just a baby, it's going to take some time for me to come to terms with.
Thank you for your post, as I said, one of the toys he was buried with was the one you bought him all those months ago. He liked to roll it round the kitchen.
I have no doubt Menelaus will be around keeping an eye on you.
My folks' cat Bruce was all over the house after he passed.
And recently he showed up here in New York! My room mate Eppie looked over at a bowl that was in the living room (not ask me, stuff is all over) and there was a new ghost cat sitting in it. She looked twice and he was still there. She made a comment about it and said it was a grey cat. I asked with white? A white chin with an off center grey spot? Yep. I just go "Hi, Bruce! Play nice with the other kitties here, except maybe for Gabby. She needs a smack now and then."
Sorry for your loss babe... pets have that incredible habit of sneaking into our lives, our hearts and most importantly our circles of trust... not much else that can be said that doesn't sound ridiculously trotted out, but thoughts and cuddles going out your way.
