We have our boy home. First of all, he has a 99% chance of recovery, which is awesome. We have him in the study with food and water and his litter. He started to purr as soon as he realised he was home.

A few of these pictures might look a bit yuck because of the stitches and sutchures, but he is okay, our little one is okay :-D

At first glance this looks devastating (I was holding him gently by the way, and he wasn't struggling or anything, just realised how this photo looks)

But he is recovery really well!

He had some food:

And a pee:

He has a pain reliever patch for the next four days:

And is already looking happier

He is good kitten! I am so glad he is home. :-D

Right now he and Puck are making noises at each other through the door. I don't think it's a good idea to have Puck with him yet, not until Loki's been home a while. Keeping them apart is difficult though!

Thank God.

Oh, and by the way for all interested watchers: http://www.petplan.com.au/

I'll post this in my LJ so people who don't want to look at the picks don't have to.

I wish they had plans for other kinds of pets.

Good luck to Loki. I'm glad he's feeling a little better now.

That's an impressive war wound. Is he trying to scratch at it at all?

Not yet. The surgeon seemed to think he'd leave it alone. If he doesn't, it's bucket head for him!

Because he hasn't lost enough dignity already. ;)

Seriously, poor thing.

"little" is the word! You should see how small he looks next to Puck, especially with all the under fur gone.

Poor little sweetie. I'm glad to see him looking so bright, so soon after a big operation.

It's amazing how fast he's recovering. This morning when Seamus went to check on him Loki shot straight out of the study and ran down the stairs. He sat where he usually gets fed and looked up at my expectantly (I was feeding Puck). I had to entice him back to the study with a tin of tuna in my hand.

I am v glad he is safely home. He's such a cutie. And so like Sam (in his younger, thinner days!)

Thank you! We would have been quite devastated if anything had gone wrong. Now we just have to make sure his curiosity does not lead him to tke the pain reliever off...

Awww, poor wee cutie... That's a pretty huge scar. Glad he's okay :)

At least he's home and already having his mum embarrass him by putting photos of him on the toilet all over the internet... Isn't that the kind of thing you should save for a cat 21st birthday?

Gorgeous boy! I'm so glad he's up and about, and no doubt soon he will be bragging all over the place about his big tough manly scar.
