Saturday we got up early and met [livejournal.com profile] vivienne_aster and [livejournal.com profile] fnoo at our local cafe for breakfast. Typically, since we were introducing people to the place the waitress wasn't there, or the person who usually makes the coffee, meaning they were understaffed, slow and had mediochre coffee. Still, the food was nice, well, mine was :-)

Kate and Michael very nicely dropped [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and I off at uni and we meandered towards [livejournal.com profile] penelope_jane's house, only to be twarted by road closures. Still we met up with her eventually, and with her help managed to get a table from IKEA, the last of our urgent big purchases, and get out to [livejournal.com profile] insomnius' mum's house for [livejournal.com profile] insomnius' going away party. It was fun. [livejournal.com profile] penelope_jane taught me a puzzle with dice about polar bears and then we played Lunch Money, which I have not played since about 2002. Yay Lunch Money! I got to see Rachael, which was very awesome, and she very sweetly lent me all of Press Gang on long-term loan, and gave me every episode of Daria she possessed on disk.

On the way home we had the company of [livejournal.com profile] laurenmitchel who was going to Brunswick, it was nice to see her in the flesh again, then Penny dropped Seamus and I home where we had dinner, got changed and headed out for [livejournal.com profile] fnoo's 90s party, which was heaps of fun! We watched The Late Show and [livejournal.com profile] rin_tin_tin, [livejournal.com profile] _audhumla_ and I danced to that song by the Venga boys... is it called Venga Bus? I also discovered happily that I can go outside with the smokers (or smoker in this case) when the amount of people gets too much for me, and not smoke. This may have something to do with the fact I wasn't drinking, but still, I was quite pleased and proud. I had fun chatting to people, and actually I really had fun dancing. I have not danced at a party in a long time. I think parties I attend need more dancing.

The next morning I woke up with a headache. As the strongest thing I'd drunk the night before was lemon, lime and bitters I thought this a tad unfair. Still, I hadn't managed to slip in any water with my fizzy drinks, and I don't have much sugar in one go these days, so perhaps it was my own fault after all. Seamus made scrambled eggs with not-bacon and mushrooms, which was tasty.

I was meant to be meeting my PALS client, but their caseworker rang me to say the client could no longer make it, hopefully we'll reschedule soon. So instead I cleared the floor in our dining area while watching Press Gang, then swept it, [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo mopped it (and all the upstairs tiled areas, and vacuumed the carpet) and then we brought our new table in. I really like the way downstairs looks now. It makes me feel happy coming home to it. And it means we can start having people over for dinner soon, and having pub at ours, yay!!

Today I got to work early as I discovered in the move I've lost my bloody Notice of Assessment, so need to get a Tax Pack and do it the old fashioned way. If anyone is interested I was thinking a gym trip this evening since I completeley failed in going over the weekend.

Now I'm at work, I should probably stop procrastinating...

Le weekend

The system we use at work is down, so I figure since my options are sit and stare into space or mess about online, no one will mind if I mess about online.

That bright streak that went by in a flash, that was my weekend.

Friday night I went to see The Lucksmiths with [livejournal.com profile] vivienne_aster and [livejournal.com profile] fnoo, it was awesome! I had a really good time once I'd calmed down as Loki had scared the hell out of me earlier by getting himself caught inside the central heating system (he got out, thank God)(why yes, i do seem to attract cats of the MONUMENTALLY STUPID variety). The Lucksmiths played all my favourite songs, and I bought a T-shirt and an umbrella, both of which I will show you at the drop of a hat (except they didn't have hats). I had a lot of fun, thanks so much for thinking of me guys!

Saturday I did my traing for MIND volunteering in Heidelberg. It was full-on, but the more I hear the more I want to do it. The other people who were there were really, really friendly and nice. Everyone seemed really into it too, hooray for enthusiasm!

After training I went to [livejournal.com profile] jpom40's place. I got lost on the way there, but finally made it. We sat and had cheese and corn chips and tea for a few hours before I headed back to my part of town and met [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo at the local Mexican place for dinner. I was exhausted by the time we walked home (I'd gotten to bed at 2am that morning and had to get up around 6:30am) So we spent what remained of the evening watching Black Books, which I haven't done for ages. I really need to find Spaced somewhere and buy that...

Sunday morning [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and I continued the dining out trend and went down to Kitchen on Racecourse road for breakfast. Then we met [livejournal.com profile] _audhumla_ and [livejournal.com profile] ragedc at her old place in Newmarket to help move the things that were still there to a storage place. Carrying a large heavy televison down three flights of stairs is an interesting experience, remind me never to live in an upper flat! :-) Having said that, I can attest that if you do need to help carry a tv down three flights of stairs it is made much easier if the other person doing it is as competant and fun as Sarah.

We went to the supermarket then [livejournal.com profile] _audhumla_ very kindly drove us home. We had lunch and I collapsed in bed for a few hours, then Seamus woke me to tell me [livejournal.com profile] dozingquin and Rhea(sp?) were comeing over for coffee and to see the house. They brought yummy carrot cake and we mucked around with Wii Fit for a while. It was fun. We also got to see wedding photos which were lovely. Loki was unimpressed with New People being in his house. Suffer.

I made another Tom Yum soup for dinner (I'm still stubbornly refusing to let this cold take complete hold, it's been hanging around for about a month, threatening to become a real problem) I got to use my brand new stone mortar and pestle which I bought from Oxfam while they were having their 20% off sale, so I was very happy, things went smush!(when the original priice is in the neighbourhood of $70 I usually have to wait for some sort of sale!) We spent the eveing quietly reading, watching tv and talking. It was nice.

Next weekend I hope will be quieter. I need to see my parents at some point, and go look at furniture. I'd love to actually get to the gym too, and it would be awesome if there were MUCAAS pub somewhere on Saturday night (not my place until we have loungeroom and kitchen furniture...) not that I'm hinting or anything...

Busy weekend, but still weekend of Awesome. Once again I'm reminded that I have wonderful friends, interesting interests, an amazing boyfriend, a cool new house and nice new people in my life. This is good.

Happy Chris.

[livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and I stayed in a small, secluded cottage in Olinda. If you're ever staying in the Yarra Valley area stay at this cottage. It was just beautiful. Oh, and get the Lover's Retreat Package... but don't buy extra cheese. We stopped at Yarra Valley Dairy on the way up and went a little crazy on goat's cheese, then found when we were ready for dinner the antipasto platter already had three different types of cheese on it, and cream cheese stuffed bell peppers... yum... the champagne was great too, and the second night we had champagne (well, "sparkling wine made in the champagne style") made from blueberries.

The weekend was filled with places with wine and cheese and good, good food. We went for walks and looked in antique shops and had scones and jam and played cards and had spa baths and got lost in a national park. We also listened to the radio and spent time just talking and being snuggled on the couch. I turned my phone on three times during the weekend, never for very long. I don't think we ever turned on the tv.

[livejournal.com profile] impostinator, you would love it there; plenty of walks and the local craft shop sells Jo Sharp yarns!

Last time I was in Olinda was May 2006, for Theatre In Education. I was there under very nice circumstances then, and though I would never have thought at the time that I'd return with one of the same people under such different circumstances, it was still really nice :-) (By the way [livejournal.com profile] rin_tin_tin_, we tried and tried to find that weird candy corn thing you bought last time, but nowhere had it.)

We ended up bringing home wine, cheese, soaps, jams and pomegranate molassas. Oh, and a chopping board to join the placemats and coasters that will be broken out when we move.

Oh yeah, and Seamus and I have now been together a year!

Definitely want to go back, winter would be awesome there.

Happy Chris.

On Wednesday I saw Sweeney Todd with [livejournal.com profile] fin. I enjoyed it a lot. We then went and had a drink and got some food, also much fun.

On Thursday [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and I had dinner on Degraves st then met [livejournal.com profile] fin and went to The Butterfly Club which was AWESOME. ([livejournal.com profile] thekit, I'm really sorry you were too sick to come too!)

Yesterday I met up with [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo, [livejournal.com profile] rin_tin_tin_, [livejournal.com profile] mise_en_abyme, [livejournal.com profile] _audhumla_, [livejournal.com profile] rage_dc and [livejournal.com profile] degsie and we saw the 20/20 cricket match at the MCG. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. :-)

Today I've organised Stuff, spoken to St George Bank and been a bit annoyed, and read a book. I'm about to head out to [livejournal.com profile] cows_might_fly and [livejournal.com profile] _audhumla's birthday picnic, hopefully this will cure my annoyance.

Loki was a terror this morning, I am glad he is obviously completely comfortable in this house now, he happily ran all over it, jumped on the bed and attacked our feet before racing out of the bedroom again. Now he is passed out exhausted on the chair in the lounge-room. Cute baby.

On Friday [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo took me to a work Christmas party. It was nice. During the day I bought two dresses, one from Savers which I've barely taken off since, and one the was expensive and red and will be suitable for evening parties that require something more than jeans but less than my formal, floor length satin dress. Did I mention it's red? It is! I also went to the dentist and found I need stuff done, I'm glad I'm still a student- means it will be a couple of hundred, not thousands, to fix things. (Because I'm a student, a member of the union AND on a Healthcare card my initial consultation was $25!)

Saturday we lay about in the morning, then went to Lomah's for lunch (and ran into [livejournal.com profile] _bounce_!). I slept really badly the night before (I seem to have swapped from hypersomnia to insomnia, so much better /sarcasm) so I had a nap while [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo played Lord of the Rings. That evening we went out and saw Death at a Funeral which was very, very funny (and had Wash from Firefly being all English and good at it!) then [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo treated me to pancakes with blueberries at the Pancake Parlour.

Today we went to the gym and I was unimpressed with the class I took. We then went to [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo's mother's house and went out for lunch with his family. There was a LOT of food, it took most of the afternoon to get through it. Afterwards [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo's sister dropped us outside the Botanical Gardens and we went to see [livejournal.com profile] insomnius and help welcome her back to the country. [livejournal.com profile] fnoo dropped us home via a supermarket and I've been munching on fruit instead of having a dinner. Oh! We also put lights on our Christmas tree!

It's been a good weekend. I think may soon be bedtime.

This has been a most fantastic weekend.

It started on Friday evening when [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and I went out for dinner with my parents (free food is good food!) Then wqe went back to Seamus' place and snuggled up in bed with a dvd.

Saturday we had a nice breakfast at Lomah, then hunted for high heels to fit [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo for the publicity shots for the Bacchae (We found some in Savers, very noice they are too!)

In the evening we got dressed up and Seamus took me to the Melba Spiegeltent because he is made of awesome. It was so much fun, and so good to be sitting there with him, watching the acts. Sometimes I'd look over at him and enjoy the look on his face, and sometimes I'd catch him looking at me :-)

After that we took a taxi over to [livejournal.com profile] vivienne_aster and [livejournal.com profile] fnoo's place in order to help Kate celebrate her birthday There was wine, all the wine, many wine...

...this morning was not pleasant.

[livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo pulled up better than I did and got me out of the house and into a cafe with fried food, the wonderful boy. Then we went to uni for a production meeting and rehearsal. At least everyone else seemed to be as hungover as me.

My life rocks at the moment.

I'm a very happy woman.

I woke up at 5am abruptly and could not get back to sleep. I texted [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and found out he was on his way home, yay! I stayed awake reading until he got in, and then slept much better than I had the rest of the night. It's kind of pathetic, but I sleep better with him in the bed, I think it's cos I know he's coming back and so i stay half awake waiting.

Anyway, we woke up properly around 11am, and I went out to purchase foodstuffs, came home and cooked a big fry-up with eggs and mushrooms and bacon and green and potatoes. Yum.

We spent the rest of the afternoon in bed pretty much, Seamus napped and played with his computer while i read and organised Production Manager-y type stuff for the Bacchae (actually, technically it was Stage Manager-y type stuff, but we've always been a bit hazy on the divvying up, and I don't mind doing it). Helen came over (so I got out of bed) to sort out some logistical stuff. It all looks like it is going well.

I give you all fair warning; if I see you in the next weeks I'll probably make you buy chocolate from me.

Now I sit with my fingers crossed, hoping no one replies to my email about rehearsals by saying they can't make their time. [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo appears to be kamehamehahing things with his Wii. [livejournal.com profile] _bounce_ is cooking dinner.

This is great, i've got a lot done this weekend and still feel relaxed and happy and rested for the up-coming week.

What a nice weekend.
