Last time I wrote on here I mentioned I was planning to go to a cafe for breakfast. I followed through on this plan. Hungover, wanting peace and quiet, I strolled slowly down the street until I got to Union Road. It was then I realised my big mistake. I was in Ascot Vale, on a road that was part of the 57 tram route...

...ON FUCKING DERBY DAY.

Sigh. So breakfast was not the quiet, peaceful meal I'd envisioned, but it was still good. I bought a magazine to read as I was on my own; "Women's Health" the first issue of the female version of, funnily enough, "Men's Health". I can't tell you how much I don't reccommend this magazine. According to it you should be going to the gym five days a week for hours at a time, and eating incredibly complicated combinations of things- which they then contradict five pages later. Oh! and it's far more important when learning to surf to have a sexy bikini than actually, y'know, learn to surf. My overall problem was that this magazine was incredibly exclusive, and should actually have been titled "Young, White, Hetero-sexual Women who are married or in a relationship and of a high socio-economic background's Health (As long as that health is actually to do with appearance and not much else)"

In short, won't buy that one again.

I spent the afternoon sleeping until [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo came home, then we went out to the supermarket and watched the racegoers stumbling down Racecourse road. When we got home [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo made a stir-fry and I tried out a new recipe for a red fruit salad that was very successful, it had cherries, strawberries, watermelon, almonds and a vanilla, clove and sugar dressing. I am glad [livejournal.com profile] mc_shamo and David are ok with being my culinary guinea pigs.

I am now sitting in the lounge on the couch next to my beloved, feeling warm and full and content. This is very good. Soon we will go to bed and watch Harvey Birdman while snuggling under the doona. Right now I am a happy Chris.
